Amidst financial
crisis people still need to protect
themselves.
Everyday when
I am out and about I am hearing the
stories of husbands and wives
loosing thier job due to the
financial crisis going on in the
United States and in the world. It
is a proven fact that exercise
lowers your stress level and
invcreases your stress threshold.
Even in these poor economic times
you should have some kind of fitness
regiment in place. It is also
important to mention that crime
rises during poor economic times. My
hope is most people will take some
type of awareness course to increase
their physical protection skills and
broaden their awareness skills. If
you know of someone who could

Depression is one
of the major disorders associated
with a malfunction in the stress
response. Constant anxiety and
overreaction to stimulation can lead
to a paradoxical response called
learned helplessness, which causes
victims to lose all motivation.
Symptoms of depression include

sex drive, rapid heartbeat, high

Warriors
Do you have

introduction to the martial arts

skills through the use of drills.

Introduction:

Dear Friends,
I hope
all is well. It has been a long time
since I have typed a newsletter I
really have not had the need till
now. I am quite excited to write
about all the good things going on
in the world of Human Excellance in
Life and Performance.
I am
starting this newsletter on April 1st,
2009. I also am bringing back the
Warriors Edge it is time with so
much going on that the Warriors Edge
has discussions once a month to
focus on skills and tips needed to
become a professional warrior.
Let’s
discuss what is a Warrior - One who
is engaged in or experienced in
battle. Or one who is engaged
aggressively or energetically in an
activity, cause, or conflict. We are
warriors that are engaged in
improving ourselves and our
community.
We
strive to be better than most
people, we are unique and we must
remember we study something that
demands we operate on a higher
level.
Please
if you have anything to add to this

to hear about what topics you would

would love to hear about all the

Can Do

Are you
a can do person? I used to be pretty
unsure of myself although I was
never verbal about it. I always kept
my “that’s impossible thoughts” to
myself. I grew up in a chaotic home
so to think something couldn’t be
done. Meant I would have to give up
and I knew I couldn’t do that I had
to endure because one day I would be
successful and I would be in charge
of my destiny. I always looked at
everything as a puzzle and there had
to be a solution. How do you think?
Are you the type of person that
gives up?
Do you
know the meaning of insanity? To do
the same thing over and over again
without any change. WOW think about
your everyday how insane is it? I
now believe more than ever when I
listen to the story of Thomas the
tank engine “I know I can” You can
to. If you just keep at it. My
teacher and I used to talk about how
you became successful at what you
did. My belief was you had to stay
your course until the goal was
achieved. Just like the engine I
know I can. When you are younger you
have lots of interest and try many
things. As you get older or more
experienced you hopefully start to
trim away the excess and incorporate
as a part of your lifestyle. The
other thing we used to ponder is
what is better being the tortoise or
the hair. At the age I am now I am
happy being the tortoise. When you
go fast there are many things you
miss. When you travel slowly and
take your time you get to see the
whole picture. My teacher’s words
that have echoed with me for a very
long time is that you have to master
the menusha. The small things.
When
you start to think you can’t maybe
the task is just too big. How can
you break it into chunks so that you
can handle it easier? This is just
one technique to create a can do
attitude.
My NLP
Coach was impressed when I first
started with him. I was explaining
to him how I teach people to run
long distance. For those of you that
don’t know my background. I used to
do a lot of running. I used to run
12 miles every Sunday morning. Well
when I first started I used to get
to my 10th mile and shut
down. I had to come up with a way to
finish. I used to pick landmarks and
break the next two miles up into
smaller distances. Here in theUSA we have
lots of telephone poles. When I am
teaching people how to run I have
them just go telephone pole to
telephone pole. To say the least my
coach was very impressed. I had
learned how to do a technique called
chunking on my own. Start your can
do attitude today.

WARRIORS EDGE
As everyone is advancing with great
speed in the martial / fitness
classes there is some basic things
you can do to be better prepared for
class.
-
Practice the skills you have
learned as much as possible.
-
Research information and
make educated decisions.
-
Do not look at the material
as repetitive see if you can
find something new in each
movement.

This should be a great month
the ground is thawing out and summer
will be on its way. Hopefully we
will get to do some outdoor
training. Personally my favorite
thing to do.
The focus on this month’s training
will be more leaping and rolling
drills. We will also be focusing on
getting up from the ground quickly.
Some tools you may want to have with
you are some knee and elbow pads or
protectors. See me if you would like
some assistance in obtaining these
items.
We also have our Junior Warriors
program starting this month one day
a week for twenty-five dollars a
month. It will run for 45 minutes
and be from 6:30 – 7:15. If you know
any young ones have them come on in
and try out a class.
Perhaps you enjoy
Cardio Kickboxing 45 minutes of
action packed kickboxing moves
tailored to fit you cardio needs.
These classes are Tuesday and
Thursday 7:30 – 8:15. Come on in and
try a class.
Lastly we have Warriors Realm
Martial Fitness Training on Tuesday
and Thursday from 8:30 – 9:30.
Invite a friend show them what you
do with your time maybe they will
see the benefit of training and be
forever thankful.
